Bloom Everywhere

Virtual care. Individualized care. Everywhere.

Now for adults, too.

Bloom isn’t Trix - it’s not just for kids!

Are you struggling to find a primary care physician? Frustrated because your doctor is booked out for months? Or are you in search of more specialized medical care? It’s essential to have a healthcare provider you trust implicitly, one with whom you can build a lasting relationship. Unfortunately, in many insurance-based practices, the opportunity for direct and immediate communication with your doctor, particularly for urgent concerns, is limited. We didn’t have a solution to this for adults at Bloom, until now!

Enter: Dr. Porter

We aim to eliminate this barrier, providing a service that offers reliable health advice without the need to rely on inconsistent online information. For individuals living in or able to visit Kansas and North Carolina, we provide two distinct solutions designed to cater to adults seeking efficient, comprehensive virtual care to manage their health needs effectively.

Meet Dr. Porter

Meet Dr. Porter, a third generation family medicine physician. He's originally from a small town in southeast Kansas and is the oldest brother of Dr. Hughes!

Dr. Porter spent over two years in Uganda with the Peace Corps, where he got a fresh perspective on what medicine looks like around the globe and met his wife, Olivia. After getting his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas, he graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, a place known for diving deep into community health.

At his home in North Carolina, Dr. Porter is all about the outdoors. He and his wife, along with their two daughters, are often found getting their hands dirty in the garden, chasing around their giant dog, wrangling their chickens, or just enjoying the fresh air. It's this love for nature that ties into Dr. Porter's approach to medicine. He's big on integrative medicine, which means he's always looking to mix the best of Western medicine with herbal remedies and other alternative treatments. For him, it's all about getting to the bottom of things, finding out the why behind the what, and not just slapping a band-aid on health issues. Plus, he can help manage your tomato plants along with your blood pressure.

Membership Option

What is it?

Think of it as a doctor in your pocket. We are here to answer all your questions related to blood pressure, anxiety, depression, diabetes, you name it. Text us in our secure app whenever something comes up. Schedule video visits when you need them. We always promise same or next business day virtual visits. If you don't see any availability for an appointment, text us. We'll find one. We do not do in-person for Bloom Everywhere.

What are the hours?

8 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday. We respond to all messages during business hours as soon as possible. After hours and weekends are based on the availability of our physicians, but will always respond as quickly as we're able.

What does it cost?

$100 a month for the first adult, $50 for the second adult, and $25 for each additional adult. All adults must be living in the same household.

How do you listen to lungs, check for ear infections, or test for the flu?

We have the option for members to purchase the Nonagon, a device that allows us to connect and get important information such as oxygen saturation, heart rate, record heart and lung sounds, look in ears and throats, and more! We also give the option to purchase age appropriate testing kits such as flu, COVID, and urine tests! Our goal is to keep you at home if at all possible.

How much is the Nonagon and testing kits?

The Nonagon is a one time fee of $150 to purchase the device (1 device is needed per family). The testing kit is $125 per kit and includes 5 Flu tests, 5 Strep tests, 5 COVID tests, and 1 bottle of 100 urine test strips (smallest amount available).

Are the Nonagon and testing kits required to join?

These are absolutely not required, but will help us do a better job keeping you home! If, for example, you're concerned you have strep throat or pneumonia, we cannot diagnose any of these virtually (and therefore cannot treat virtually!). If you had these kits and the Nonagon, however, we could!

Does Dr. Porter see adults?

Dr. Porter will only see adults (18 years and older). Your children can be seen by Dr. Hughes, our pediatrician.

Who can be seen?

Currently, we are only accepting patients who are living in, or can be seen in (like driving to a parking lot in one of the states if you don't live here), Kansas and North Carolina. We will add more states depending on interest.

Why do I need this?

If you hate depending on urgent cares, ERs, google, a wish and a prayer, or other walk-in clinics, this should be a good choice to save you time, save you money, and avoid unneccessary exposure to other illnesses.

Are you my primary care physician if I enroll?

Nope! As this is only for virtual care, we can't do in-person exams (obvi!) So you will need to keep your doctor for anything that requires an in-person visit.

What do you not provide?

In-person visits are not included. We also do not provide services such as immunizations, annual physicals, or referrals not directly related to a disease or concern we have diagnosed or are managing.

Can I cancel if I don't like it?

Of course! All we need is a written form of communication and you will no longer be charged. You will continue to have care through the end of your payment period.
